Aqua Shape™ – Liposculpture and Fat Grafting
We have adopted the term Aqua Shape™ for the Body-Jet procedure
to emphasize this unique use of a water spray to obtain a patient’s own fat, which can be used as a
permanent filler to shape the face by adding volume. Other parts of a patient's body that have been
corrected with their own fat grafting are depressed scars, aging hands, breast reconstruction refinement,
and other deformities related to a loss of fat volume.
How Does the Aqua Shape™ Liposuction Technique Work?
The Aqua Shape™ is a water-assisted liposuction technique
which is a more gentle approach to liposuction and a more reliable method of
obtaining fat for grafting. This procedure utilizes the Body-Jet System,
which simultaneously dislodges fat cells with a spray of water, while
removing the uninjured cells with low pressure suction. The fat is
collected for injection as permanent filler.
What Are the Benefits to Our Patients with the Aqua
Shape™ Liposuction?
Results from Aqua Shape™ patients show that they seem to have less swelling, bruising
and a faster recovery. In addition, the fat harvested with Aqua
Shape™ is 90% viable (living) as compared to 50% or less when using other methods to obtain fat.
