Dallas Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) Benefits Both the Patient and the Surgeon When Using Progressive Tension Sutures (PTS) Technique

Dallas abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) benefits both the patient and the surgeon when using Progressive Tension Sutures (PTS) technique

We are pleased to announce the publication of one of the largest, single practice series of abdominoplasties (tummy tucks) with the use of Progressive Tension Sutures (PTS). PTS was originated by Drs. Pollock and first described and published in 2000. This new article proves the ease, safety and effectiveness of this procedure which eliminates postoperative drains, bent posture, and complications. PTS procedure benefits patients and surgeons:

  • Marked reduction in the incidence of complications – fluid collections, wound healing problems, blood clots, etc.
  • Improved cosmetic results, quality of scars, natural appearance of the navel, etc.
  • Much easier recovery for the patient: NO drains to deal with: early resumption of upright posture – immediately; elimination of complications, etc.

The article is titled: “Progressive Tension Sutures in Abdominoplasty: A Review of 597 Consecutive Cases” and is written by Drs. Todd A. Pollock and Harlan Pollock. It was published in Aesthetic Surgery Journal on 29 June 2012. Read the abstract to this article.

Please Make a Donation to USO to Help Our US Troops and Their Families

Wednesday, December 7th, 2011

Today, and recently, our thoughts continue to turn toward the armed service members. Today is the 70th anniversary of the attack at Pearl Harbor. This day comes a few weeks after Veteran’s Day and Thanksgiving Day and just weeks before the holidays come, too.

North Dallas Plastic Surgery is very proud of our own Doctor Harlan Pollock who served during the Vietnam War. An article was published about the plastic surgery services then Major Pollock provided over 30 years ago during that war: you can read it on our website. Dr. Pollock was in the Vietnam War from 1967-1971 and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel, US Army, with a Bronze Star.

We encourage you to remember our armed service members who are away from their families during the holidays. As the end of the year approaches, many people are considering to which charities they will donate. We hope that you will join us: make a donation to the USO (the United Service Organizations, Inc.) as they continue to support the troops and their families.
