Pectoral Implants for Men IN DALLAS AND ALLEN, TX

What man doesn’t want a chest that appears well defined and sculpted?

Unfortunately, the chest is one of the most difficult areas of the male physique to transform through exercise, diet, and weight training. This is especially true if genetics have put you at a disadvantage in this area. The good news is that men who desire more definition in the chest can use pectoral implants to achieve this look.

What Is Male Chest Augmentation?

During male chest augmentation, a solid silicone implant is placed through an incision made near the armpit. The pec implant sits atop the existing pectoral muscle.

Pectoral implants are a good solution for men with an asymmetrical chest who cannot correct this problem with weight training.

Pec implants come in a variety of shapes of sizes. The implants have the look and feel of muscle, and because they aren’t gel or fluid-filled, there’s no chance of leakage or tearing.

Am I a Good Candidate for Pectoral Implants?

You are a good candidate for pectoral implants if:

  • You are athletic and want to improve your chest contour
  • You have tried to build a more athletic chest in the past but can’t get results at the gym
  • You have an asymmetrical or a deformed chest
  • You are in generally good health
  • You are a non-smoker or can stop smoking before and after the procedure
  • You have realistic expectations for the results

Ultimately, Dr. Pollock will confirm if you are a viable candidate for the procedure during your consultation.

Dr. Pollock’s Approach to Pectoral Implant Surgery

Our pec implant procedure is performed under general anesthesia to ensure the comfort of the patient. You will be able to go home the same day of your procedure. Patients typically can resume normal activity and return to work within approximately one week of the procedure.

During this time, your chest may feel tight and uncomfortable. Dr. Pollock will prescribe pain medication to manage the pain.

After pec implant surgery, you should refrain from exercising for four to six weeks to allow healing to take place. You should also avoid lifting heavy objects for six weeks after your pectoral implant surgery.

Each surgery varies, so recovery periods will range from person to person. Dr. Pollock will be able to give you a better estimate during your consultation.

How Long Do the Results Last?

Pectoral implants offer long-lasting results. Note that significant weight gain after the procedure can impact the contour of your chest. It is recommended patients stick to a healthy diet and regular exercise routine after their surgery.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pectoral Implants

  • What are the risks of pectoral implant surgery?

Generally speaking, pectoral implant surgery is relatively safe and holds minimal risks. However, all surgeries do carry some risks. These include:

    • Infection
    • Anesthesia complications
    • Hematoma
    • Scarring
    • Changes in sensation
    • Allergic reactions
    • Muscle spasms
    • Numbness
    • Asymmetry
    • Movement of the implants
    • Dissatisfaction with the results
  • Does pectoral implant surgery leave any scars?

Yes, pectoral implant surgery will leave some scarring. For most men, the incisions are made in the armpit region. After the incision heals, the scar should be minimal and easily concealed.

Over time, the scar will fade. A qualified, experienced surgeon understands how to best position incisions to reduce noticeable scarring.

  • Is pectoral implant surgery done on an outpatient basis?

Typically, you are released after your surgery and a brief observation period to recover at home. You will need to arrange for someone to drive you home and spend at least one night staying home and monitoring you.

  • How long is the procedure?

Generally, pectoral implant surgery can take between two to three hours to complete.

  • Can pectoral implants be combined with other cosmetic procedures?

Some men choose to combine their pectoral implants with other body contouring plastic surgery procedures like liposuction (to remove excess fat pockets elsewhere on the body) or tummy tuck surgery (to tighten skin and fat on the abdomen).
